Situated at the eastern end of the town, Shepherd Terrace lies in the quiet Townfoot
area of Haltwhistle. It takes just over five minutes to walk to Main Street, where there are several
pubs, a Co-op supermarket and various other shops selling food products,
a number of takeaway establishments and cafes and a small launderette. The station is approximately a ten minute walk and the flat is on the route of the Hadrian's Wall Bus.
The terrace lies at the lower end of Shield Hill, one of the two roads leading up to Hadrian's wall from Haltwhistle, and backs onto the Haltwhistle burn. The stream has a footpath running alongside it that leads up to the wall
which is only 2 miles away.

The flat is equipped with a TV, video recorder and DVD player. There is also a radio, a CD player and battery operated speakers which you can use for a portable CD player or MP3 etc.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, electric hob, combination oven/microwave, electric kettle and toaster. Hot water is supplied on demand by the gas boiler, which also runs the central heating system if required (instructions available in the flat!)
No smoking or pets please
The terrace was built in 1905 as purpose built flats and originally owned by the local coal-mining company. Presumably it provided accommodation for clerical workers and managers, as the high ceilings give an air of spaciousness not generally found in the homes of ordinary workers at that time. Later the flats were sold into private ownership.
The flat has 2 reception rooms, a dining/living room, a sitting room with a double (sprung) sofa bed and a bedroom with a double bed. There is a small bathroom and separate kitchen.
At the back of the property is a small lockable yard where it is possible to keep bikes etc. There is ample free parking at the front of the property.
The flat can be rented for £165.00 per week between September and June, and £190.00 per week during July and August. The flat must be cleaned on the day of departure and left in a suitable condition for the arrival of the following guests. A vacuum cleaner and other cleaning materials are supplied. A refundable deposit of £50.00 is payable with each booking. This will be returned to you at the end of your stay. The cost of replacing any breakages which have not been made good and/or any cleaning expenses will result in the forfeit of this deposit. This deposit will also be forfeit in the event of inconsiderate behaviour on the part of visitors resulting in nuisance to the neighbours.
Duvets and pillows are supplied for all the beds. Towels and linens are not supplied. Please remember to bring with you sufficient duvet covers, sheets, pillowcases and towels for everyone in your party (don't forget tea-towels!).
